My Switch won't turn on, how do I hard reset?

Worked fine before I went to bed and I put it in sleep mode and left it on the dock to charge but now it won't turn on at all. I press the power button and the green light on the dock doesn't come on. When I unplug the A.C. cord and plug it back in the green light flashes a couple times and then stops and when I take the switch off and put it on the dock the green light comes on for like half a second then nothing happens. Anyone have any ideas?

There is a chance that the console has frozen with a black screen. Look at the console in a darkened room and see if any light is coming from the screen. If so, the console has frozen. Hold the POWER Button for 12 seconds or more to turn the console off. Then, press the power button again to turn the console on again.
"-Remove the console from the dock and attach the Joy-Con to the console.
-Disconnect the HDMI cable from the TV and from the dock.
-Disconnect the AC adapter from both ends for at least 30 seconds.
While you performing this step, check for any cuts, kinks, frayed cables, etc.
If any damage is found on the Nintendo Switch AC adapter, it will need to be repaired.
-Connect the AC adapter directly to the console."
