No volume on my 3ds xl... any way to fix this?

There is no damage or water damage to the 3ds xl console that I have(unless i am unaware of it). Both screens are fine. Its in great condition and everything works properly except no sound. I tried restarting it... Nothing. Tried restoring it... Nothing. I dont know what to do and i really dont have the money to get a new one.

Have you tried listening with headphones? Also have you ensured that the volume control switch is not switched OFF?
Googling the problem reveals the Nintendo 3ds notorious for having "no volume" problems - usually related to the motherboard.
