wii suddenly won't read disks...

So yesterday I went to play a game and all of the sudden it wouldn't load, I waited for it to spin up and then it goes to a black screen and says....
An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual doe help troubleshooting.
not sure what exactly is going on, but NONE of the games load now, not wii play,

"Back up everything an call Nintendo, your Wii needs to be serviced.
IF warranty expired you can try can air spray or one those cleaning disc first (doubt the latter works but got nothing to loose) before spending $80 to get it fixed."
Mine had a problem with Resident Evil 4 and Okami, now it works all the time since I've put it on it's side.
